I think it’s interesting that she says that she didn’t illegally download music, she just ripped it from the CDs of her college radio station — as if that somehow isn’t illegal. I also think it’s odd that she posits that her generation will “pay for convenience”, yet she didn’t take advantage of any of the convenient options like iTunes. Instead, she went through the massive inconvenience of sitting at her radio station for “hours” ripping discs. This isn’t to say that iTunes is perfect (there’s plenty of things that I want to purchase, but can’t, via iTunes; for example, every year I get my mother-in-law to send me the current Triple J Hottest 100 set). But certainly iTunes is more convenient than spending hours upon hours ripping someone else’s CDs: pick your music, and watch it all download to your laptop.
